The Yuin Folk Club and the Cobargo Folk Festival (the Organisation) are committed to ensuring that all activities, promoted and presented by the Organisation, provide a safe and secure opportunity for people of all ages to experience and participate in a positive and harmonious event.
To ensure a proper level of security and safety, particularly for those who are under 18, we have introduced this Youth Policy, which forms part of our Conditions of Entry for the Cobargo Folk Festival and the camping areas within the Festival site.
DEFINITIONS:
Youth: A person aged 13-17 years.
Guardian: A responsible adult aged 25 years or older with valid proof of age ID who must:
- Remain on site at all times while youth in their care are on site;
- Be contactable by mobile phone at all times;
- Inform youth in their care of the consequences of breaching Terms and Conditions;
- Register their name, contact details, and the names of youth in their care at the Ticket Office before entry.
Family Group:
- Immediate family members (including siblings) who normally reside together.
- Extended family members are not considered to be part of a family group.
YOUTH TICKET BUYERS:
Ticket Purchase Requirements:
- Youth Tickets (13-17 years) must be purchased with an Adult Ticket (Guardian);
- Maximum three (3) Youth Tickets per Adult Guardian Ticket;
- A fourth youth will require a separate Guardian, unless all youth are part of the same family group.
BREACHES OF FESTIVAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
- Any breach by a Youth Ticket Buyer results in refusal of entry and/or eviction—no exceptions;
- If the Guardian cannot be located when a breach occurs, police may be contacted to take appropriate action;
- If a Guardian breaches Terms and Conditions, all youth under their supervision must leave unless a replacement Guardian is identified;
- Replacement Guardian details must be recorded at the Ticket Office (coordinated by Site Manager);
- No ticket refunds for evictions.
YOUTH PARTICIPANTS AND ENTITLEMENTS:
1. PROGRAMMED YOUTH PERFORMERS
Young performers (ie under 18) booked by the Festival Artistic Team and on the Festival main bill must be accompanied by at least one Guardian who remains on site at all times while youth in their care are on site.
Entitlements:
- Weekend Festival entry (including camping if accompanied by a Guardian) for the Programmed Youth Performer;
- Weekend Festival entry (including camping if applicable) for ONE adult (Parent or Guardian 25+);
- Free entry for siblings under 12 years;
NOTE: Other family members (including siblings who are aged 13 or older) will need to purchase youth or adult tickets.
2. VOLUNTEER YOUTH PERFORMERS (The Crossing Youth Stage):
Young performers, who are under 18 years of age and accepted for The Crossing stage must be accompanied by at least one Guardian who is required to remain on site at all times while youth in their care are on site.
Entitlements:
- Day-of-performance Festival entry only for Youth Performer;
- Day-of-performance Festival entry only for ONE registered Guardian.
3. YOUTH FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS:
Young people selected by the Volunteer Manager to assist with tidy up and raffles during the Festival.
Requirements:
- Provide 6 hours of labour in exchange for Festival entry;
- Attend Volunteer Orientation prior to the Festival;
- Report to the Volunteer Manager;
- Observe the Volunteer Code of Conduct at all times;
Entitlements:
- Weekend Festival entry (including camping if applicable) for Volunteer;
- Weekend Festival entry (including camping if applicable) for ONE registered Guardian.
