Performers 2027 interim

More than 30 years ago, a small group of folk enthusiasts in a village of just under 400 people had a brilliant idea: start a folk festival. Since then, Cobargo Village has doubled in size, and the Cobargo Folk Festival now brings thousands from all over the world together for one joyous weekend celebrating music, dance, song, poetry and the power of story.

The 2027 COBARGO FOLK FESTIVAL, 26–28 February 2027, will celebrate 30 years of community music-making with a cracking line-up of local, national and international performers at the beautiful Cobargo Showground.

The first 15 artists are here — and this is only the beginning! One of folk’s most acclaimed voices, Kate Rusby, joins Dublin’s Daoirí Farrell, a two-time BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner. Damien O’Kane teams up with bluegrass star Ron Block for their genre-blending “Banjophony” sound, while Eleanor McEvoy, composer of Ireland’s biggest-selling song, “Only a Woman’s Heart,” brings decades of songwriting craft. Dance to high-energy Scottish band DLÙ, and Catalan duo Alosa, whose songs recently won at the Enderrock Awards.

Closer to home: Djinama Yilaga sing ancestral Dhurga language songs from Yuin Country, Candelo’s Robyn Martin and the Wires bring soulful original folk, Tilba’s Abby May offers award-winning solo songcraft, while Pepper & Davies blend blues guitar with classical bassoon.

Trouble in the Kitchen bring their reputation as masters of Irish trad, Shohrat Tursun Trio fuse ancient Uyghur melodies with African rhythms, and Golden Guitar-winning duo Wicker Suite bring bluegrass-country fire. Rounding out the bill are travelling troubadours We Mavericks and American folk-blues favourite Kristina Olsen, both returning to share their stories and songs.

Even though times are tight, we’ve worked hard to keep our ticket prices low and accessible — because everyone deserves a share in the celebration. Early Bird tickets are on sale now – don’t miss your chance to lock in the best price and be part of 30 years of folk excellence.
