Formed in Barcelona by Giulietta Vidal and Irene Romo, Alosa weave close harmony singing, cello and traditional percussion into songs that feel both ancient and newly made. Their music moves between original compositions, reimagined Catalan traditional songs and unexpected touches of jazz, pop and Mediterranean colour. Their debut album “El primer cant del matí” has confirmed a distinctive voice: intimate, rhythmically alive and full of warmth, with performances built around the power of two voices, a cello and small percussion instruments. Arriving in Australia after major recognition at the 2026 Enderrock Awards, where they were named Best New Artist and won Best Folk Album from both critics and the public, Alosa offer Australian audiences a rare chance to hear the next wave of Catalan folk up close.
