Broken Creek reimagines Australiana on banjo, guitar, fiddle and voice, exploring stories from Australia’s past and present. They perform original songs about small-town Australia – tunes inspired by the land – and reinterpret lost songs from the archives. Broken Creek’s albums, Small Town Anthropologies and Yeah Nah, were finalists for Traditional Album of the Year at the Australian Folk Music Awards, and they were 2024 Duo of the Year finalists. Broken Creek’s latest project, Folk from the Archive, revives songs from the National Library of Australia and celebrates the tunes and songs of bush musician and singer Sally Sloane.
