David Hallett has been writing and performing poetry since the 1970s. Twice winner of the Poetry Olympics at the Sydney Writers Festival, plus winner of the 2019 Reciter of the Year Award and Woodford Story Award, David has hosted two of Australia’s longest running spoken word events for 30 years at Lismore and Byron Bay. David’s jumps from page to stage, from outback schools and major festivals to the Sydney Opera House to the beat cafes of New York, addressing issues of war and peaces, climate chaos, the spin of media and politics, love, shopping and our maddening digital world.
