Bob and Margaret Fagan are Australian folk legends who began their musical journey together in Canberra more than 50 years ago. Long-time favourites at festivals around Australia, the UK and Ireland, they draw on the Anglo-Irish-Australian tradition, from songs of social and environmental justice to haunting traditional ballads and contemporary stories. In 2025 the National Folk Festival presented them with a Lifetime Achievement Award, an honour they say they feel far too young for!
Bob and Margaret will present a concert celebrating the life and work of the much-loved and sorely missed Alistair Hulett. Joined by a selection of 2027 Cobargo Folk Festival performers, they’ll pay tribute to Alistair’s songwriting legacy and announce The Alistair Hulett Songbook, a definitive collection of songs by one of folk music’s most fearless and inspiring voices.
