Known for his many creative projects, it was only a matter of time before Mikelangelo started a band playing music for kids. Mikelangelo is the alter-ego of Michael Simic, who, as it happens, has spent a lot of time as a home dad in recent years. This has led to a number of epiphanies, including the blinding realisation that there needs to be more music for kids that doesn’t annoy the hell out their parents…enter DAD BAND. Featuring five dads from Braidwood who bear very close resemblance to the band Mikelangelo and the Long Lost Friends, they turn up the heat on topical themes such as fruit, hammerhead sharks, playgrounds and icecream meltdowns. The searing riffs and grinding grooves of DAD BAND prove that kids like to rock out just as much as their parents do. This really is fun for the whole family.
