Formed in 2016, Great Aunt is a collaboration between songwriter/instrumentalists Megan Bird (mandolin, resonator, acoustic guitar, vocals) and Chelsea Allen (double bass, vocals, percussion). The music draws inspiration from the traditions of Appalachian folk, bluegrass, and gospel music, with a gleeful nod to the pair’s diverse, individual backgrounds in punk, jazz, soul, and rock.
We promise to keep communications minimal and meaningful as we build our festival family.
The Yuin Folk Club acknowledges the Djiringanj people of the Yuin Nation who are the traditional custodians of the land on which the festival is held. We acknowledge the living culture of the Yuin people and their unique role in the life of the region.
Permission to use the name “Yuin” for our club was received through the support of Yuin Elder, Aunty Eileen Morgan (dec), when the Club was established.
The Yuin Folk Club supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
