Sounds of the Himalayas is an immersive musical journey into the sounds, rhythms and spiritual traditions of the Himalaya brought to us by Warnamala Pariwar, a not-for-profit organisation based in West Bengal, dedicated to the preservation of traditional music from the Himalayas. The act features Himalayan folk instruments including Machunga (Mouth Harp) and Madal (percussion), blended with soulful vocals, chanting and mantra recitation. Inspired by shamanic rhythms, rivers, nature and mountains, the performance moves through traditional songs and the evocative art of Himalayan opera singing. Audiences are invited to participate through engaging rhythm patterns, call-and-response and interactive musical moments.
